Gretchen McKay is an initiated Sangoma and shamanic practitioner who bridges ancient African traditions with contemporary spiritual practice. She completed an intensive apprenticeship with Traditional Doctor P.H. Mtshali in Swaziland (2000–2001), undergoing traditional Sangoma initiation that deepened her commitment to ancestral medicine and the path of service.
Her shamanic training spans core shamanism (1997), Celtic traditions (1999–2001), extraction work with Michael Harner (2002), and soul retrieval with Sandra Ingerman, including her two-year teacher training (2004–2006). She also studied Hawaiian shamanism with Larry Kessler and holds expertise in herbalism and aromatherapy.
With over two decades of experience, she integrates bone divination, soul retrieval, and energetic extraction with ceremonial medicine, herbs, and spiritual light to restore harmony on both personal and collective levels. Discover more on Gretchen McKay.

FAQs
DISCLAIMER: Ancestral work is a spiritual practice for exploring lineage patterns. This is not therapy, genealogy research, or medical treatment. This complements but does not replace professional healthcare.
What is ancestral healing work?
Ancestral work addresses patterns, wounds, and unfinished business that may have been passed down through your family lineage. Unlike therapy, which works with personal psychology, or genealogy, which traces family history, ancestral healing works at the soul level with the energy and patterns carried in your lineage.
How should I prepare for this session?
We prefer that you do not drink alcohol, use any casual drugs, or eat meat for 24 hours before your session. Come rested and hydrated. You may wish to reflect on what you know of your family history, though this is not required. If you have questions, email care@munay.live.
